STEP #1: Determine which MEMBERSHIP you are going to apply for (choose one only). Here is a brief description of each. Select one then go to the indicated section for further instructions. FULL MEMBERSHIP - You must own at least one purebred Caucasian and sign the Breeder's Code of Ethics. You need a sponsor (an US COPS Full or Family Member in Good Standing with the club) to be considered for Full Membership. This membership entitles you to ONE Vote. COMPLETE STEPS #2 & #3. FAMILY MEMBERSHIP - You must own at least one purebred Caucasian and both sign the Breeder's Code of Ethics. You need a sponsor (an US COPS Full or Family Member in Good Standing with the club) to be considered for a Family Membership. This membership entitles two adults in the family to one vote each, for a total of TWO votes. COMPLETE STEPS #2 & #3. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - Non-voting membership. Does not require a sponsor for you to join, nor does it require you to own a Caucasian, or sign the BCE. NOTE: Associate Members may NOT disclose on the chat list that they are breeders of Caucasians, as this would imply US-COPS accreditation and approval that does not exist. COMPLETE STEP #3. STEP #2: For Full Membership / Family Membership, ONLY. 1. Obtain an US-COPS Sponsor. Ask a Full or Family Member of US-COPS (must be in Good Standing with the club) for permission to use them as a sponsor. Your Sponsor will be interviewed about your ethics and level of dedication and responsibility to the breed. Therefore, your sponsor must KNOW you and be willing to stand behind your ethics. (If you do not have an US-COPS Sponsor, join the club as an Associate Member for your first year, and get to know some Full Members who may sponsor you. A great way to become well-known quickly is to volunteer for a club-sponsored event or fund raiser.) 2. Print out the Breeder's Code of Ethics and READ and SIGN it. (For Family Memberships, both adults must sign the Breeder's Code of Ethics.) Do Not take this lightly -- this is a CONTRACT that you will be expected to abide by.
STEP #3: 1. Print out the Membership Application and complete it. Please note: failure to complete this Application in full will delay your membership. 2. Send the Application in with the correct fees as follows: For Associate Memberships, please enclose a check for $25.00. For Full Memberships, please enclose a check for $30.00. For Family Memberships, please enclose a check for $35.00. All fees must be in US funds. Please make check out to "US COPS" and send Application, signed Breeder's Code of Ethics (if required) and check to: US COPS Treasurers
